Margarita Bashlovka was born in 1987 in Petrozavodsk, a small city, located in a pristine ecological region of North West Russia. Her interest in art grew from an early childhood and her enchantment with the nature landscape of green forests and clean blue lakes that surrounded her.

She began painting at an early age. Her grandfather, a talented landscape artist, began giving private painting lessons when Margarita was 6. She began to feel the first tingling of her lifelong love for painting. Initially enrolled in a music school, she decided against it and enrolled into Petrozavodsk Art School instead. She spent 5 years studying history of art, drawing and ceramics. Margarita also immersed into a world of watercolor paintings at school for years. She graduated with honors in Fine Arts.

During college years Margarita was finding her style and exploring art forms. Margarita's art is full of bright color interpretations because when she moved from a harsh northern climate to sunny California in 2010, Margarita felt a tremendous rush of energy and power emanating from the landscape and climate of Southern California. She put it all into her art.

Margarita gets inspired by blooming gardens and rich Pacific Ocean. California spirits is definitely a huge influence in new Margarita's paintings. She has also kept up her skills lately attending UCLA extension art lab classes.

Nowadays Margarita is working at her studio on her new ideas by developing her "Dream World" series. Margarita Bashlovka currently lives in Venice, CA.
